The Xanax will help you out a lot. I'm on it for anxiety and it is a great medication. You should mellow out on it.

You can read about the benefits about progesterone cream here Progesterone Benefits

You may find it helpful to keep a journal of your symptoms to see if there is a pattern. I don't think it would hurt to try the Xanax to see if it would help. You can always discontinue it if it makes things worse or does not help.

If you are afraid of the xanax there are other anxiety drug choices out there...Talk to your Dr and express your very valid fears. Just calling may help ease your anxiety a little. I know for myself that is so true...when I become more proactive with my care it helps me feel a little better everytime. It helps me feel more in control.

Even though your hormones levels were "within normal limits" (which have very wide ranges) doesn't mean they are "normal" for you...go by how you feel. There is much wisdom in "listening" to your body...

Hope you feel better soon!

Many Blessings!

relaxing

Hi. I just wanted to add that you can talk to your doc. about lots of other things for anxiety (paxil, etc.) that are not addictive, if that makes you feel better. I don't blame you.

i have also started have bad anxiety, i mean really bad where to i felt that i could breathe. doc gave me xanax too and i was scared to take them too. i felt they were going to make me feel worse just like how you feel. let me tell you something two nights ago i had a really bad anxiety, tears and all and i finally took it because i thought i was going to die. within minutes it calmed me down and i felt so much better, doc told me that i could take it only when i needed it..

what is the dose he gave you for xanax??? if it's like .25 its a mild one so you should be fine
goodluck, feel better

Think about it, whats worse? being so stresssed and have heart rates out of control? or being calm and feeling better? I say try it.. cut it in half if its scored just to start.

When I started the stress/anxiety/fear thing peri menapause, I was on xanax, even though my mom was on it for 30 years i didnt want to try it either but I did and yes it did help. I soon found it after a few months it was causing swelling in my lower legs since is slows down the heart rate I think? I went to my dr and she started me on ativan and its SOOO MUCH better for me personally anyway I talked to someone who is in the ativan business one day I ran across him in my sales business it was due to his email was XXX@ativan.com I asked him about it he says xanax tends to build up in your system where as ativan wont. SO I switched and it does the same calming thing I was not sleepy on it either...but since there isnt a build up in my system I dont notice a swelling in my ankles as much!! GOOD LUCK
