Question - Loss of libido a good thing? Loss of libido a good thing?

My husband and I have been together for about 18 years and have always had very different libidos, with the odd situation of my libido always being the higher of the two. Now here I am, one year post TVH (kept ovaries), and I'm pretty sure I'm going through "the change." All of a sudden, my sex drive just turned itself off about a month ago.

I have no interest, although my husband can get me in the mood, if he tries, but he's not really into the intercourse as much as the cuddling.

I'm not sure whether this new dynamic is a good thing or not, and it worries me that since the drive shut off so quickly, hubby will think I'm up to something, which I'm not. The thought of sex doesn't repulse me, but I just don't think it's worth the effort anymore.

Should I be concerned?

Giggi..

It could be that this new disinterest and loss of libido is that your ovaries are shutting down. It's not uncommon to be disinterested when that happens.

Only you know if you should be concerned, and if you are, I would suggest that you talk with your doctor about these changes. Your doctor might start with a simple blood test to see if your ovaries have shut down...from there, you can discuss hormone replacement and options, and see how you do from there.
