Embarassing Conization Question

Hi Ladies! I have only posted a couple times but I don't know who else to ask if this is normal before calling the Dr.

I had my cone biopsy 7 days ago and since I was under complete anestesia I didn't see the Gyno Onco before or after it. My follow up is Tuesday. Soooo I have no more pain really from it but last night and today I noticed that when I wipe after urinating there is black on the toilet paper....like it looks like mascara or something. Is that just part of the "healing process" or a sign of infection or something?

Anyone else experience or heard of this? I'll call the Dr if it doesn't go away but he's 2 hours away and not in the office on Wednesdays so I was hesitant

I too had a cone before my TAH. I remember an annoying slow discharge and then passed a huge plug like thing. My DH said he remembered the Dr. saying something about this, I don't....was out of it. After this passed it was better and then 3 weeks later I had my last period....Yeah!

Maybe give it a few days or call if you are really concerned. Everyone is different.

It's been too long to say for certain, but I don't recall anything like it with my CKC. Although, isn't it possible with LEEP procedures? I can't remember for certain, but maybe you could call the office and ask to speak with a nurse? I'm sure they've heard it all before, please don't feel you can't double check.

JC .. I just had a cone biopsy 9/24 and I had that black discharge for almost 8 days. It is completely normal. Right after the black discharge stopped I started bleeding red blood and was not due for my period. I went to the doctor no blood vessels were open/. It turned out to be my period coming early. When I was bleeding they told me to take Centrum (a multivitemin) and 2 iron tabs daily that helped .. before that I felt tired and drained but felt good with the iron and centrum.

Also if that black stuff smells bad don't worry once it passes there will be no more smell. I totally freaked out about that because I am OCD about hygene.

Thanks sooooo much girls!!! I feel better now! I had spotted blood for a few days now and then this started. I also had my IUD removed during the procedure so it's hard to tell what is what right now with crampiness and all. I've been bleeding at least 3/4 out of every 7 days for over 3 years....I can not WAIT for this to be all over!

BTW, here's my story if that helps: I had a colposcopy and my gyno said it was CIN ll dysplasia. I got a 2nd opinion with a Gyno Oncologist and they said it was Carcinoma in situ from the sample that the previous Dr took but wanted the cone to be sure it wasn't further. So that's where I'm at now....we'll see.
