mood swings, sweats , fatique what else?

I am post surgery, October 6, 2008. I felt better 3 weeks ago and now I feel like I am going crazy. I saw my Doc yesterday and she put me on a estrogen patch. She said it may take 2 weeks before I see any change. It is so hard to talk to my friends because they think I'm just so "negative." This is not the same. I feel like I have the flu bug. I'm crying, tense, hot flashes, you name it. I finally read about all the symptoms on Hystersisters. I feel better better about everything and don't feel like I'm losing my mind........I have to get back to work next week. I am a police officer and will need to go on light duty for a few weeks. I just can't imagine going back feeling like this. (I can't carry a weapon during this time, thank God. Sorry, but I have to see the humor in this.........

The doc feels I was pushed into menopause due to the surgery. I had my uterus removed which had two large fibroid tumors, a polyp and endrometriosis I have had problems with depression and have used anti depressants in the past.

It's possible that your ovaries are just sleeping right now. You are not that far along post op, it is not unusual to have these type of symptoms during the early months post op when one retains their ovary(s). I would give it some more time before you and your doctor decide that you are indeed in menopause.
