12 weeks post op Still lots of pressure

Hi awhile since I have been here, but feeling quite down have had two abcesses was hospitalized for twenty days with one then 10 days antibiotics for second, which both seem to have been due to surgery. Finished antibiots 6 days ago and still have lots of prssure down below and pain on voiding has anyone else had this problem though surgery seemed to go very well and no longer have heavy pain as did before surgery with heavy bleeding starting to get depressed, please let me know if anyone else has had this problem and if pressure is normal and nothing to do with abcess. Thank you. Donna

You poor thing, you have been through a lot. I did not have the same thing that you had, but I did have different things, and so I did not heal up inside as fast as I thought I should. I would say I was not fully feeling like myself for almost 6 months.

I am sorry you have had complications. Post-op is a time to recover and heal, and it is common to feel aches and pains. You will need to rest and not overdo until the tissue inside heals.

If you have pressure and pain, you might have a bladder infection so you want to have it checked out so it can be treated. I got a bladder infection and a yeast infection so this can happen to women after this surgery as well.

I hope you can heal and feel better soon. You will get past all this before you know it, just know it takes time for some of us to heal. You are not alone with complications, as there are many here that did not have the ideal post-op recovery.

Sending s your way.

I have had MRI since surgery and now a CT tomorrow for continued pain! It sucks being this far out and not feeling better! How were your abcesses discovered?

My intestines stopped working and blocked up they did cat scan and found abcess but could not do anythinf right away for fear of puncturing intestines so was on iv and nothing by mouth for 14 days then was scheduled to have a drain put in and it broke on its own and drained naturally through vagina. Had another one drain two weeks ago, just started back ot work part time last week and it is hell allways tired and hurts like hell to pee. I am starting to feel quite down and hard to get motivated i guess was not ready to feel this way due to keeping my overies. Please keep in contact and let me know what is said. Thank you and good luck will be thinking pof you tomorow.

For some of us recovery is longer. I am 5 months out and still have pain, infections, and heavy bleeding. I have changed drs because mine told me they don't know where the bleeding is coming from. What?

Be patient and get alot of rest. It really does take time.

In the meantime, I will pray for you.

Feckles,

Did your Dr do a CT to ensure the abscess is totally resolved? I had an infection and free fluid diagnosed by CT. Unfortunately it did not resolve but balled up into two large abscesses, one of which ruptured in my abdomen. One sign I had before the rupture was a return of bowel and bladder pressure similar to what I had just after my original TVH. A ruptured abscess that cannot drain (like mine) is medical emergency and very life threatening. I would not wish wht happened to me on my worst enemy. If it is caught before the rupture it is sooooo much better. With that kind of pressure you may want to request a follow up CT.

And BTW I was back at work, running and 13 weeks post hyster when my rupture occurred.

Hugs,

Starbgirl
