When can I sleep on my tummy? 5 wks postop

Hey all-
I'm 5 weeks post op (SAH vertical) and am longing to sleep on my stomach again. How long must I wait?

Not having the same surgery (TVH) I would said when ever you feel comfortable doing so, unless your doc told you different.

6 weeks post-op here, and I've just been able to sleep on my side in the last week. Still waiting for the day I can comfortably sleep on my tummy.

I had LAVH & other repairs. I was 7 wks before I could sleep on my tummy, but slept on my sides after just a couple days. I really didn't like sleeping on my back at all.
When it feels like it's okay, go for it.

I will be 6 weeks Tues....and last night I was able to very comfortably lay on my stomach. I didn't have a vertical incision though...so I would expect it to take longer for you.

I had a TAH vertical on 10/13. I was able to start sleeping on my stomach right at the 4 week mark (but regular size underwear and jeans are still not happening--go figure). The first night happened pretty much by accident. I woke up and was 3/4 there so I figured what the heck. Try it and see how it feels. If it bothers you, move back.

I had TAV 2 weeks and three days ago and woke up one morning on my stomach however I haven't slept that way on purpose yet. I did get some really good sleep that night. I sleep on my side all the time now except for when I get some sharp pains. It would be horrible if I only had my back to sleep on.
