Glad I'm not alone!

I'm so glad I found this website! I am almost 4 weeks post-op and had started to think maybe I was going crazy for taking so long to recover but it looks like that is pretty much the norm.
I had a full hysterectomy Oct 21st and I am still SO tired! I have days when I feel like doing things but then I pay for it the next day. I am a personal trainer/fitness instructor and consider myself to be in really good shape but this surgery has taken the wind out of my sails! I have yet to exercise and I definitely cant work. I've had migraines that have lasted for days and pain near my kidneys. The worst part to me is not being able to do anything for very long. Because I'm normally a very active person its been really difficult. I have no appetite and sometimes when I DO eat I get sick to my stomach and end up running to the bathroom.
The upside is that I am rid of the horrible mood swings my periods gave me and I wake up each morning feeling "sane". I have gotten down a bit because I can't really go and do and I don't want it to lead to depression.
Anybody have any suggestions or experiences similiar to mine??

Hey - it is frustrating isn't it. I'm sure I'm no way normally as fit as you, but do work out several times a week in the gym to a medium level of intensity. I really thought by now (8 weeks post op) that I'd be up to going back, and have more energy, but think all I could do is the cross-trainer and the treadmill, and floor work of course. Oh yes and maybe the bike? Trouble is, I dipped a toe in the water last week by going swimming (18 lengths) and that was obviously too much cos had real pains down there afterwards. Desperate to get back in the gym but think for the next week or so I will have to carry on walking every day. Best of luck anyway - hope you feel more energised soon
