Hanging In There

I am exhausted from getting my house cleaned and all the laundry done. Really trying to stay busy so I don't think about tomorrow's surgery. I finally broke down and took some Xanax this afternoon to hopefully calm the nerves.

I am so ready to be out of surgery and on the way to a GREAT recovery this time. It is so hard to be hopeful that things will turn out fixed in the end since the adhesion beast is hard to fight.

I am so fortunate to have a wonderful, patient and understanding dh. My health problems have taken a toll at times, but he is always there for me. He has held my hand, pulled my hair back while giving my all to the porcelin throne, cool washrags and all the other possible icky things that come with surgery & recovery.

I will update as soon as I can tomorrow or Tuesday. Dh will bring his laptop to hospital in the a.m. so if I stay, I should be able to post a quick note. Otherwise, I will post once I am home and settled enough.

I appreciate each of you and the support over the last few weeks.

Good luck trmooney-

Guys, stupid question...looks like I am in the right area here...when they go to remove cysts/stuff laproscopically do they automatically take care of any other problems they see? Or do you have to do it twice?

Good question january...I would think if you have given them a heads up that you suspect anything else they would look; otherwise, they will probably not poke around if there's no reason to.

Otessa,

How bad is lap. cyst removal? Is it a hard recovery?

Tracy...good luck! I wish my surgery were early...no waiting! Mine is at 12:30, but at least it's not my first one!

Hey January,

Looks like you've been through an SAH. If so, the lap cyst removal should be much easier for you. I had a TAH in 2006; the only reason my lap LSO and cyst removal was bad at all was that it took 2 1/2 hours because of the size of the cyst. It was the size of a small canteloupe by the time my doctor went in. He almost had to open me up. Luckily he didn't!

I had my lap LSO on a Friday and went back to work a week from the following Monday. Take it easy though; you've still had surgery so listen to your body and rest!

It is so amazing what they can do thru little holes! How on earth do they see their way around especially with a cyst of that size?
