5th Wk & need to return to loosen bladder sling.
I had a TVH, bladder sling installed, mesh on rectum. After surgery I thought the pain in my pelvic area would have been an infection in the bladder after 2-3 wks, none found after a urine test. Well I am in my 5th week & Pain has not subsided. OUch! I called Dr this morning & they want to see me This coming Friday, probably to loosen sling. Does anyone know the procedure & does it actually help? Nervous & Scared! Is this normal? It hurts when I urinate & I don't empty completely. I have to lean my whole back as I am peeing & I empy slightly & it stops as if i am done. 15min later I am feeling i have to urinate & it hurts during the whole peeing time. Oh, I still have not dropped any stiches & the smell is not pleasant. But I do have good news... I have not seen blood spots in 1 whole week. hopefully its the end. 5th week & recovery well so from the TVH. Pain is there when i over do it. Well, till later, Isa

5th Wk & need to return to loosen bladder sling.
isatov--
I am so sorry you are having this happen to you. I have had a mesh bladder lift sling removed from me. It's a bit different than a TVT or TOT removal, though. It's unlikely that your doctor would 'loosen' or remove the sling right there in his or her office without preparing you well ahead of time, however. Usually, it's a surgical procedure. Very occasionally, it's been done in the office but even then the doctor usually has done an examination first and then you come back on a different day. THEN, the procedure is like a 'semi-surgical' procedure and you can be numbed up and done that way, too.
Truly, if you are going to need the sling 'loosened', 'clipped', or removed, it's far more likely that you will be examined and then told that you are a candidate for surgery to do that.
If it's worrying you right now and you don't want to wait to find out, I'd suggest you call your doctor's office and just ask. I'm sure they are used to getting ALL types of calls.
You are still in the initial recovery period from your surgery so make sure you are taking good care of yourself.
**I had mesh removal surgery from an anterior bladder sling and had to do it 3 times to get it right. It does help if it is done right, for sure. If you do end up having to have this, I can give you more info. Please let us know how it goes at your Dr.'s this week.
Sending you many .....

6th Wk recovery, back to surgery to loosen bladder sling.
6th Wk & Dr visit last week was to wait over the weekend & take urelle 4x daily during the week-end & call him back on Monday 11/24, If pain continued. I called dr & told him Pain continued. Dr then scheduled surgery for this coming Wednesday morning. Have to go back in to loosen sling. Dr says recovery time after surgery will be 6wks so I would be back to square one. Not thrilled, but happy the pain will eventually go away. When I was examined vaginally It hurt horribly. Is this a norm I wonder.... Well, a hospital I will go this coming Wednesday 11/26. Although my hysterectomy is coming along, I am grateful & praying that all goes well with Gods help. I will not stay over night, I guess public aid will not cover.
Well, I will post you during recover time sometime next week.

5th Wk & need to return to loosen bladder sling.
I have exactly the same feelings as you, Isatov, in my bladder and am in my 7th week. I was at the doctor's yesterday and asked her about whether the sling was too tight. She said that the symptoms of it being too tight are urinary retention and not being able to pee...and mine are feeling like I need to pee all the time. So she said I have just the opposite of what happens when it's too tight. She attributes my symptoms to my long-standing condition of irritable bladder/interstitial cystitis which I have dealt with on and off for years. But it was never this bad until I had this operation. (I had all the same procedures you had except that I had a TOT sling). She now thinks I should be on meds for IC and gave me RX's for those because she said I shouldn't be in this much bladder discomfort and frequency this long after the surgery. I wish I could be sure it's not a sling that is too tight. Is your doctor sure that is what is causing your symptoms? If anyone else has sucessfully dealt with too tight of a sling, what were your symptoms that indicated that? I'd really like some feedback. I'll be thinking of you when you have to go back for the 2nd surgery. That 's really a bummer, Nancy

Isa--
I'm glad you got in to see your doctor. I'm sorry you have to undergo another surgery.
The next 6 week recovery should do the trick. It really is NOT normal for there to be that much pain upon examination. It sounds like your Dr. is right on top of everything and is keeping close track of you.
Sending you many {{{hugs}}} and healing vibes... ... ... ...that this will be the thing that will work for your pain....

5th Wk & need to return to loosen bladder sling.
Yep, it needs loosening. I will be for sure after the surgery & we will see is there is a difference.
I am so uncomfortable. I just woke up this morning and have made a 2nd trip to the bathroom within 10 minutes. I did not empty fully. My eyes are still tearing from the pain. sometimes the pain is not that bad but most of the time it is painful as the urine exits. Most of the time the urine exits in drips & slow streams. I told the dr something is wrong & its not normal. I told him over & over it should not hurt when releasing urine & I would not wait another week cuz it was getting worse instead of better. Dr's just listen to us & they have now idea unless we repeat ourselves to them but if you do not show discomfort he will continue to write you off prescription after prescriptions. I learned that for 5-6 wks & urine is still not normal, there is something wrong. lets see what happens.
Thanks sis, but I am at my wits urinating way too often. My problem when I 1st came to him was urinating on myself. I always had a beautiful stream w/no pain. Ouch! This is not normal I told Dr. Please help me.
I hope you do not suffer any longer. If Dr were to tell me different I was ready to get a 2nd opinion. We should not have to be in pain or given medications to cut the edge of the pain, because that what Dr did for me: gave me muscle relaxer & anti depressants for the pain. I practically freaked when he said this would knock of the edge of my pain., Nope, did not work. I called him as he requested & no sooner got me into surgery.
Well sister, I hope all goes as well. I will keep you posted.
Take Care & I am praying for you.

5th Wk & need to return to loosen bladder sling.
I am back from sameday surgery, " I have a steady & strong stream & NO PAIN" My suggestion: Do not wait any longer. Call Dr & Tell him it hurts & you can no longer stand the pain while urinating. Next week is a long time. My pain became worse on the 4-5 wk. Finally am on the 6th & Done something about it. I begged the dr & I am pain free. Good luck & keep me posted. you are in my prayers.

5th Wk & need to return to loosen bladder sling.
Isa-I am so happy for you! I am 3 wks post op post-op, pvh, a&p repair and bladder sling. I have been self cathing for 2 weeks, am taking flomax and just got taken off a muscle relaxer, which made me act weird so now have been put on medicine urecholine, and I finally have gotten a trickle today for the first time since surgery-but it hurt so bad, not the actual urine coming out, but like in my pelvic area, like maybe a bladder spasm? I am not quite sure, but after a minute or 2 or the slow trickle and pain, I just self cathed. I am really thinking I need to have it loosened, but I talked with my gyno who assisted my uro in the sling, and she said she really felt like it couldn't be too tight. I don't know, I am starting to wish I was back to peeing when I sneezed again!

I plan on calling first thing Friday morning, will be shocked if they are in, but I do plan trying. What exactly did they do ? Was it in the office? I am glad to hear you are feeling better...
