Problems urinating after lavh a/p repair and pubosling

Hi! I am new to the website, and I hope I am posting this correctly. I had a vaginal partial hysterectomy and a&p repair, and a pubovaginal sling done on 11/5/08. Since the catheter was removed (and put back in and removed again) I am still unable to urinate on my own. Now I am straight cathing and they have me on flomax and muscle relaxers (soma) to hopefully relax the muscles to release the urine. No urine has been released after 2 days of taking this, but it sure has knocked me out! Has anyone else had this issue? I am just so frustrated, and I know I am only 2 weeks post op but still. The doctors (uro and gyno) are both surprised this would happen, and said it has only happened in one other patient, they worked on together who eventually started going on her own, with no further surgery.
Thanks for letting me vent and it's good to be here!

I'm so sorry you're having a rough go of this. I had trouble going number one for about the first week but then things started to loosen up and now it's not a problem at all.

I had a friend who had repairs done and she said it eventually took her standing in the shower to go after she first had the procedure, almost as if sitting restricted things. It doesn't sound like very many people have it easy for the first few days to couple weeks after having the repairs done.

I never did the clamping of the catheter. What does that do exactly? I am still unable to go on my own, so still on the flomax and muscle relaxers, and now on bactrim for a UTI I developed from the straight cathing. On Monday the dr wants me to call him and see if there is any change, trying to hope for the best but my optimism is about out the window! I wish you all the luck of the luck in the world on Monday, keep me posted as well!
