Swelly Belly .. Mine is huge

I feel like im 4 months pregnant. This happened overnight. I know I overdid it yesterday and it shows in my tummy. I had a tummy tuck 2 yrs ago will this pooch go down.. I had all the tummy tighting but they cut through it. Did the surgeon ruin my tummy forever I sure hope not .>All this work to lose weight and all the pain from the TT to have a pooch.. I will be devastated

Swelly Belly .. Mine is huge

I had a much worse swell-up when I had the laprascopy exploratory. I seriously looked like I was due any minute - with terrible stretch marks - very ouchie.

Every one is different but I can tell you that when it went down I was completely normal again (except the stretch marks). And when the doctor removed my prolapsed uterus that was making my belly pooch out, the first thing I noticed was that I looked like I'd had a tuck done! My hyst was done vaginally so it was like magic!

I wish you the best.

I had the robotic hyst and I had swelly belly for nearly 2 months..it does get better..you are still only a few weeks into recovery. I found that from mid day on, it would get bigger and bigger and could not wear my normal size for few months...but then seems overnight it was gone! Good luck...concentrate on still taking it easy and I am sure you will be back to as good as new!

I feel your frustration. I have noticed that the ones that had a TVH (since there was no abdominal incicion) seem to go back to normal, but this seems iffy for those of us that had a TAH. I had smart lipo on my stomach about 6 months before my TAH and my stomach looked great. Of course I had no idea at that time that I would be having a hysterectomy a little later down the line. I have always been near my ideal weight, but just some extra weight in my stomach area. I have the "shelf" and it is not going down. I lost some weight during my surgery so I can fit into my jeans, but with no clothes on it is not pretty! I posted a comment about a week ago and many are unhappy with the way they look months after the procedure. I know that we are all different so I am trying to remain positive since I am only 4 weeks out. It is depressing though when we spent money to improve the way out stomachs looked....only to have this "new look" I have to admit that I did a lot of research and didn't expect this at all!!! My doctor would not perform a TVH due to the fact I have not had any kids and she stated that she would be performing the surgery blindly since my uterus had not dropped. Good luck to you as you continue to heal.

Count me in as frustrated also. I was totally surprised by the shape of me following TAH. I have never had a svelte body, but I am really embarrassed by my current shape - and sorry for my DH who watches me clamber in and out of bed. Surg 11/12/08. I have bought 2 larger sweat suits to wear around the house, ordered a loose fitting jumper that I may need to wear for ?? months. When does this resolve???

Swelly belly does go away! It just takes time....And then you have a day when you over do it (like me today and it comes right back).

You ladies really are very early post op, please be patient :-)

It isn't a weight thing, it is as a result of surgery.

Hugs

Katy
