Hair Loss????

I have always had thick hair. To the point if I put it up in a pony tail by the rubber band it measured out about 2 inches. I cut it over the summer and now I am losing hair by the hand fulls. I started noticing it a couple of months ago. And now it is getting worse. I have been bleeding since June. I go every couple of weeks for labs. My surgery is in March. I have been scheduled since September. I am wondering if it is stress or if it could be hormones doing it to me. Has anyone else had this happen?

Hair Loss????

Yup-in the last month-but also under major marital stress/crises and financial. I have short thick hair and after every shower huge clumps would be in the bathtub-not the normal amounts at all. Very obvious. Never has happened prior to this. However with the amount you are losing it wouldn't hurt to ask your doc to make sure things aren't more amiss then they appear. Take care.

Hair Loss????

I had hair loss (alopecia) due to the depo shot... Progesterone does it to me. It may be that your body is producing too much of it? Not sure, just a guess...

Hope it stops soon. I hated when my hair was falling out!

Hair Loss????

Same problem here. I bought some Nioxin. You can find it at just about any salon. Cheapest is at the salon's inside wal mart. It has stopped the falling out, but, my thickness isnt back

Hair Loss????

Nioxin? I have never heard of it. Wish I had found this site a lot earlier. I have had hair falling out for awhile now. Wonder if it is hormones?!? I hope to make a trip to wal*mart before I make the trip to the castle.

Hair loss

Hi, I had severe hair loss. My dermatologist said nothing was wrong, she actually mentioned my age. WHAT. I am only 42.I demanded from my gyno a blood test for thyroid and I do have an underactive thyroid. Hashimotos (sp) disease. I am on synthroid and biotin and it has made a world of difference. Keep finding the answer, it is usually something.

Hair Loss????

Thanks to all that answered. I did take the depo shot in June that is when my Aunt Flo showed up and has not left yet. I only did one. I guess with everything that is going on and the wait that I have until my surgery would make anyone stress. I am going to check into the nioxin for sure. I am also going to speak to my Dr next week about it. I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving.

Hair Loss????

If it was the depo shot that did it, it will grow back... Not much help right now, but it's been two years for me and it's coming back. I was 26 and had a receding hairline... Nice. My gen. doc looked it up, and alopecia is a side effect of depo-provera.

I don't know if there is anything they can do to stop it if it was the depo, the progesterone just has to get out of your system
