Evamist

I have been using Evamist, a rather new product, since less than one week post-op. It is a transdermal Estradiol that is applied to the forearm daily. Its a very fine mist which dries within a minute. I started with the lowest dose (one spray per day) and am now at the highest dose (3 sprays per day). I guess it keeps your total amount of Estradiol down that you have to use, since your liver does not have to process it. Its worked pretty well....my only real side effect ever from my surgery has been hot flashes...and Evamist has controlled it (with the increased dosages). I've been holding steady for quite some time, but now I am getting more hot flashes again. I am not sure what they will do with me now, but I am getting tired of sweltering. I have heard that they sometimes supplement with a low dose (75mg) of Effexor. Is anyone taking that in combination with other HRT?

Effexor plus HRT?

I m on bio identical est 1.5 mg and progestrone. I am two years post op (complete hyst) and five months ago and a complete breakdown and was put on effexor xr and I am now feeling better than ever.

The effexor took about two weeks to adjust to and now I notice that I get tired more often than normal, but I try to deal with it because I feel better with it than without.

Good Luck

Effexor plus HRT?

sherisls, my dr gave me a script for Effexor, but have been too scared to try it.
I suffer more with anxiety than I do depression, do you think it would help for that based on your own experience?

Effexor plus HRT?

That is exactly my problem...anxiety. I had terrible anxiety attacks. I would go for months without then all of a sudden they would hit. I tried increasing my estrogen and it would help for a while but a few months later, bam right back where I started.

My dr said my brain was not getting the hormones it needed which is why I was having these issues. Which makes sense because our hormones are all over our bodies.

I would highly suggest you get the Rx filled and start in. I take effexor xr. I am highly sensative to many medications and I can tell you in my experience this medicine offered the less amount of side effects for me. Now, the first two weeks I was on this was brutal, but after that I am doing well expect for periods of tiredness. I keep pushing through but seem to overload on sugar and caffeine looking for a boost.

I would not suggest this as I am trying to cut back a whole lot and increase my activity.

I hope this helps.

Effexor plus HRT?

I am taking 5mg Lexapro ( a low dose) with my 1.0 Vivelle Dot. I fought it for awhile-just didn't want to go on the Lexapro-but it has helped tremendously. Until my I lost my ovaries I never had anxiety-after surgery I had heart palp and panic attacks. All that was gone after about two weeks on both meds. I don't like taking medications but felt it was safer taking Lexapro then additional HRT. Three doctors confirmed. Good luck.

Thanks so much for the info, you and I could be twins!
I have never tried to balance with progesterone or testosterone, I thought I would go that route first, but wonder if I would be just wasting my time.
My coping mechanism is getting very low, so I'll need to make a decision on something soon.

Effexor plus HRT?

north7creations

I do estrogen and proesterone all bioidentical and in cream form. I tried pills, patches, gels, etc. Nothing worked as well as having the meds compounded in a cream form. The difference was night and day.

Then when I added the Effexor XR even better. I am like I mentioned before tired a lot and this is common with Effexor XR but I am trying to beat it because I really don't want to change things since this is the only issue.

Everyone is different and I have tried just about everything out there looking for relief. I have and endocronologist that really checks my hormone levels and worked with me when no other doctors would.

Hang in there and don't stop looking for what is right for you.
