When do internal organs settle?

I am 16 days post-op (TAH) and before I had my surgery, my fibroids were pushing up my internal organs so that they were at my ribs, and making me very uncomfortable. Since the surgery, it's much much better, but I still feel an intestine pushing up to my ribs where it's not supposed to be. Does it take awhile for organs to settle back to their normal places?

When do internal organs settle?

I have to say that I did not have the same experience as you have had....but your post made me smile.

Once, when visiting my GP for an exam, I saw an odd look on her face. I thought I had cracked a rib (which I had) but she was poking and prodding and had this worried look on her face. I asked what was wrong. SHe said, "I cannot find your liver! Wait, there it is...why is it so low?" I then told her, "well I do not have a gallbladder anymore." Viola! Liver "fell" LOL!!!
