Anyone looking for a new job or any job while out on medical leave?

Hi Ladies.....I know this is a strange question, but I've had a lot of time on my hands lately to reflect on life....and I've been truly miserable at my current job. How wonderful it would be to start the new year off with a new job and better health right?????

I was wondering if any of you have been doing the same thing I have been? I am just shocked at how many resumes I have been sending out and the fact that I am not even getting so much as a phone call is just mind blowing to me!!!!

I know the economy is tanked right now, and unemployment is skyrocketing, but this is just downright deppressing!

Makes me glad I have a job to come back to no matter how crappy it is! LOL!

I Wouldnt Leave Your Job Right Now I Have Been Looking For A Job For Almost 9 Months..so No Matter How Bad You Hate Your Job I Would Just Bite My Tongue And Deal With It For Now...there Is Nothing Out There Trust Me...if You Find Something Congrats But I Still Wouldnt Leave My Current Job To Many People Are Losing Jobs Right Now

Would never dream of leaving my current job with the unemployment the way it is now!

Just wondering if any other Sisters out there are looking for another job while recovering!

I did the same thing this past February and landed a new and better job in May. Couldn't be happier! (I stayed at my old job until I started the new one).

I have actually been thinking the same thing. My job is good, but I want more out of life. I don't have the energy at the moment to start sending out resumes, but I have been looking at the job boards just to get a feel for what I am actually looking for.

I know that for me, when I get time off, I start thinking about the possibilities of a bigger, better life.

It not so much about how bad your current job is but how much better something else would be.

Good luck with everything. This hysterectomy has put everything on a bit of a rollercoaster, for me, anyways.

Heyred5, i think you are being very smart to keep what you have while being mature enough to reflect and be honest with yourself about wanting more or maybe just something different. Even if you don't get a new job right now, you can always be on the "look out" now that you have reached a conclusion you want something else!! And maybe when you least expect it and when the timing is right, BAM!!!-- a job that is a perfect fit for you will come along.

I lost my job in Oct.08, and decided it was the only way God could really put me in circumstances that led me to a much needed surgery I had been fighting off for months. Sometimes God does for us what we can't seem to do for ourselves. I am looking for a job during this recovery time. It has been very difficult working job interviews with swelly belly, pain meds, exhaustion, etc.

I can so relate. I would love to find a new job as well. When I return to work, my hours are going to be cut back to part time. I am not looking forward to using my savings to get by as I search for more hours.

I agree..doesn't hurt to look for something better but don't leave until you find something. I've been looking and the same day my doctor tells me I need a complete hysterectomy, I get a job offer. Hoping that I get totally well before I start the new job after only 6 weeks of recovery.
