3 months post op with burining pain on one side of incision site
This is my first time posting, a little history first.
I had to get a c-section followed by hysterectomy due to placenta acreta, on August 27 08. This was my fourth pregnancy. I had an acreta with my third pregnancy and almost bled to death. I recieved 12 pts of blood and in that transfusion I recieved two different antigens. So needless to say another transfusion was out of the question because I need blood with those antigens as I understand. To reduce the need for blood, and anticipating that I would hemorage I had to get a hysterectomy. They left my ovaries in, although I don't think they are working because I am miserable with sweating and insomnia. Anyway back to my question.
Anytime I get out of bed, or pick my baby up out of her crib, or bend and lift. I feel this terrible burning sensation similar to my first week of post op. It doubles me over sometimes. It is this burning muscle pain that takes me a couple of minutes to walk off. It is only on my right side, and I was wanting to know if this is normal. Anyone have the same thing happen. I hope it is not a hernia... and I have to admit that I didn't take it as easy as I should have the first couple of weeks. DH had to go back to work after a week and I had 3 girls at home to take care of, all under 5. Should I call the doc? Thanks for any info.
Dee

Hi Dee...I'd give the doctor a call. Be honest that you might have over done it a bit and see what they say. It's better to let the doctor decide on things like this. Better to be safe, than sorry down the road.
Let us know what you find out.
Take care!

Dee, I agree with Nancy - better to be safe than sorry - consult your doctor as you may have overdone things in the first few weeks. I am not surprised considering you have three littlies to take care of - I am a qualified preschool teacher, so I know what you are contending with on a daily basis. Good luck with your recovery - hugs

Thank you.... I think I will make that call in the morning. Just didn't know if it was normal.
