31 yrs. old...hyst. scheduled Jan. 21

I am 31 years old, yesterday my hysterectomy was scheduled for Jan 21. I probably will not have to have the large incision, but they will use a scope. My ovaries will be left. I have fibroid tumors. Bleeding about 26 days out of the month. I am looking forward to the lack of bleeding...but was wondering..
1.) will I be bleeding after surgery?
2.) what is the recovery time?
I would appreciate any input on these questions, or just information in general from those who've been here.

Hey , I hope you do well too. It nis hard for us to imagine what it will be like and helpful to read so many differing experiences but the best bit of advice I have had to date is to remember it is your recovery and take you time.

Take Care

Hello please do not listen to all the awful stories from friends and neighbors. I felt so much better the very next day really. I had bleeding day 1 after the operation and that was it. I wanted to scream I was so happy. I had very heavy bleeding since March and was on so much meds.. Yesterday was my 4th week I am driving, thinking, (I had a stroke and 2 seizure because of all the blood loss) so thinking was difficult.I am so very happy I did it. The ladies on this board helped me so much! That is what we all try and do here. Do not be afraid to call the doctors office and ask questions I did I am so happy I did. Make a list and call the office.

I hope your recovery goes well. There are plenty of recovery stories here. And I feel you have come to the right place for support from fellow sisters.

Remember that each person is different and while procedures may be similiar, peoples experience and bodies may not be. However, gaining insight and info and other peoples stories will give you an indication and endless support is available from our hystersisters.
