What is an anterior repair?

what is an anterior repair? my surgery is jan. 13. they are doing a tvh and anterior repair. is this just another way of saying --bladder repair?

An anterior repair is the repair of a cystocele; in other words when the bladder herniated into the vagina through the anterior or front wall. A posterior repair is the repair of a rectocele, the rectum herniated into the vagina through the posterior, or rear wall. Therefore an “A&P” repair, which you’ll see frequently, is the repair of both cystocele and rectocele.

I have my TVH, BSO, plus an A&P tomorrow at 8:30am. I'll have some first hand information/experience real soon! This site has made me feel much more comfortable going into this surgery than I would have thought possible. I'm still nervous, but I feel like I know what to expect.
