No, a complete hysterectomy is not a definite cure for endometriosis. Nor is an oophorectomy or the two surgeries combined. However, some women do find they do well have one or both surgeries. There is no way to know in advance how successful a hysterctomy and/or oophorectomy will be for each of us.

It is in the best interest of anyone diagnosed with endometriosis to see the most knowledgeable and skilled surgeon one can find. If at all possible, seeing an endometriosis specialist can likely offer you the best outcome and the least chance for endometriosis recurrence.
