Depo Provera, which is likely what you received before, is not the same as Lupron Depot. Lupron is a gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) agonists used to decrease the body's production of specific hormones such as estrogen which is believed to fuel the endometriosis. Depo Provera, on the other hand, is a synethic progestin.
The thing about side effects is that not everyone will have the same ones, if any! There are ladies who have loved Depo Provera and some who have not. Some who love Lupron, some who do not! We each have to work with our doctors to determine which meds we are willing to try and then hope for the best! It will also depend on what you are wanting the medications to do.
Other options could include Danazol, aromatase inhibitors, other forms of progesterone, different birth control pills, and alternative medicine such as acupuncture, massage, and chiropractic care. You could also check look for a doctor specializing in herbal and natural medical treatments.
I wish I could offer you the perfect answer for your situation but unfortunately, I can't. No one can. Do try to keep notes regarding your symptoms, work closely with your doctor, and keep researching! If possible, you may also want to consider seeing an endometriosis specialist
I wish you all the best!
