Newbie Surgery Jan 22

I am getting my hysterectomy in about 2 weeks. Doctor says he will go through my c-section scar (Bikini) I have a long history of fibroids. I had two removed in 1992, and three in 1999. I have five of them this time around. I am 37 years old. I am happy this is being done. I guess I am a a bit worried also. I just do not want to spend the rest of my life getting them removed every few years, and trying to manage them with birth control pills.

I will be keeping my ovaries, My doctors says he will look them over, make sure they are OK and leave them in tact.

Just any thing anyone can tell me will be helpful. From my small circle of friends, many are telling me that this is the best thing I can do.

thanks
