I read somewhere in this site the similarity between our abdominal surgery in the belly with and strained, both well swell. I have both, and let me tell you dear ladies, I am in my week 4 and my belly is still swell (specially at evening after a hard day doing "light" housekeeping), when I had my ankle strained (during my ruuning) it was swolled for about 4 months, specially when I walk too much or push it too hard.
So using that idea, I just going to start ice pad at evening (10 minutes two times) and use soft massage. I do not like the idea of NSA (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory ) becuase even though it feel great, this chemical may affect the liver. I know that many runner (lilke me) used to used a lot and some have been finishing with liver problem, may be we are different each other, but I would like to prevent any damage, I use instead astragulus drops and sweet dream infusion before bed time to relax.
I am planning to start with arnica this week, it really help me with my knee and ankle swelling.
Please ask your doctor,

My best wirhes for this week

I will take my aleve daily for the swelly belly, but I am pained to hear this could last a year. I got my surgery due to my uterus being the size of a 5 month pregnancy, now post-op I still have to wait a year to know what my belly is supposed to look like???

10 weeks here & I swell up every day still. I have heard it will take 6 months to a year & I can see that now. Sorry. I am allergic to ibrupophen but I can take tylenol. Thanks for the info. Best wishes!

The suggestion about the anti-inflammatories was a ripper! I took two yesterday when my stomach was huge & down it went. This now tells me that when my belly is up it's time to put the feet up.

However, I also made another connection. My gynae said that it could be related to my bowels too. My stomach tends to swell in the afternoons & only started doing it after three weeks or so. I changed my breakfast at this time so I'm changing it back from tomorrow for a week & we'll see what the belly does. I'll let you know regardless.

Good luck to you all,

Lisa.
