my hyst story..woo hoo!!

i am sooo thankful that my hyst is done and over!! im 25, and alot of ppl seem to be shocked that i had a hyst!
mine was on the 7th (of jan) and honestly, i dont remember alot of things...i remember the nurse coming in and saying "are you nervous or scared at all?" and i said yes, so she put some meds into my i.v, all of a sudden i was waking up hyperventalating. i was in sooo much pain i felt like i couldnt breath! after doing that 3 times, i woke up im my room, with a roommate. lol my roomie ended up having the same exact thing done for some of the same reasons..we got along great. my blood pressure was really low, and i woke up to one of my nurses saying "if her bp drops anymore she could go into seizures" i couldnt pee either, i sat on the toilet trying to pee for 20 min, and finally the nurse said "ok, i will put in a small cath. and we can take out your packing.." first thing i said was my what?!?!? i had no idea that my dr. had put a TON of gauze in me because i was bleeding a little bit more then normal. it was sooo uncomfortable!! while i was in the hosp, they had me on percocets every 4 hours, a morphine drip, and tremadol every 8 hours..i slept almost the whole time i was in the hosp! i came home the next day..and slept for 4 days. i could not stay awake for more then 20 min. finally i said this is enough. i was dizzy, light headed, couldnt eat, and wanted to throw up all the time. when i called my dr. he told me "i want you to go straight to the e.r." soo i got scared but i went. it ended up being that i can not take prec.s..they made me sick, and made me sleep, which made me dehydrated. so i now have other meds to take. ending of story: one day shy of a week, i feel great! still not myself, but i still feel soo much better! it is kind of depressing not being able to do my normal house hold thing like i want to. but im thankful i am finally on my way to recovery. and i want to send out a big THANK YOU to all of you ladies..the support, and just having other women to talk to..you are amazing.

Hello. I am glad to hear that you are doing better. I had a TAH/BSO on 1/5. I understand the feeling of not knowing what was going on after surgery. Kinda went throught the samething. Def. understand about the housework. But oh well. My DH is doing it for me. I wish you good luck in your recovery. Remember to take it easy and one day at a time.

I am so happy you are feeling okay and on the road to recovery!

Be sure to take it extra easy, get lots of rest, let others pamper you. You want to heal completely, and it takes a long time, longer than you may think. I had my tvh Nov.25 and am still feeling not quite myself, but soooo happy my pre-op pain is gone!
