Just found out I need an hysterectomy

Hello, I just turned 38 and found out I need an hysterectomy. I had a abnormal pap in Oct, atypical glandular cells high grade lesion. Which led to a colposcopy which showed nothing. My Dr. (which is very pro-active and knows my family history, maternal aunt died of ovarian cancer at age of 37, my sister was diagnosed with breast cancer at age of 39, which she is not a BRAC gene carrier) recommended a cone biopsy, because he said anytime it shows AGC you should be really concerned. The cone biopsy was performed and confirmed AGC high grade lesion could not rule out insitu.
He is recommending total hysterectomy, vaginal for cervix and uterus, and scope for fallopian tubes and ovaries. He wants to put me on a low dose of estrogen, which I am very confused about. I know that estrogen replacement can increase risks of breast cancer. My sisters oncologist is recommending I do not take any. He says wait 3 months to see how I feel. I have clients telling me without can cause hair loss, thinning of skin, extreme vaginal dryness, insomnia etc. And estrogen can cause blood clots. I am so very confused , I need some advice. I am married and have a 10 and 7 year old.

Just found out I need an hysterectomy

I would seek a second opinion regarding the HRT. So far, I am doing fine without it.

I had to stop HRT when my sister was diagnosed with BRCA seven years ago, and I went through 5 years of perimenopause without it. As far the effects of no hormone replacement, I have complete strangers comment on how much hair I have!

Best wishes to you. Let us know how you are doing.
