Swollen belly with TVH?

I had a TVH on Jan 2 and am wondering if any one else had a swollen belly with a vaginal hysterectomy. It makes sense to me that an abdominal one would have swelling, but less sense for a vaginal one. But then, I'm not sure if the swelling would be from the interior changes or an incision.

If you did have swelling with a TVH, how long did it take for it to go down?

Thanks.

Swollen belly with TVH?

I haven't heard on here that there's much of a difference in swelly belly with vaginal or abdominal. I've heard swelling from 6 weeks to a year on here. Sometimes it depends on if you "overdo." If you think about there are organs removed, there's going to be tissues swelling in there, trying to heal. The abdominal cavity can be tempermental about what goes on in there.

Swollen belly with TVH?

I had a TVH and from time to time I still have a swelly belly. I was told that it happens and it's your bodies way of telling you to slow down a little. It can be frustrating at times because you want to fit into your "normal" clothes but on some days I'm still in sweats. Hang in there it will get better!!!!

Swollen belly with TVH?

I had a LAVH on the 5th, I'm progressing slow due to an UTI that wiped me out so I'm not very active yet. My abdomen can expand and contract many inches. The other night I put on pj's and had to take them off because they were too tight. I wore them last night with extra space - go figure.

Swollen belly with TVH?

I had a TVH/BSO on 12-18-08. I still have swelly belly after I have been busy all day. I went for my 6 week check up on monday of this week and my doc told me I could have this for 6 months or so. I guess I'll just deal with it. Much better than a period every 2 weeks!!!!! I hope you are feeling good. God bless.

Swollen belly with TVH?

I had a TVH/BSO and POS reconstruction 12-24/08 and I have been surprised at how much of a swelly belly has come along with it. My Doc told me to use it as a guide...if it swells tone it down a bit an take it a little easier! She also said that it could hang around for the first year but still that is better than all the other messed up problems that we all had pre-op!!!

Happy healing
