Saw Gyn re: menopause symptoms

Saw my gyn re: surgical menopause and any symptoms I may be having. I had surgery on December 16th with my gyn/onc. Made this appointment with my regular gyn figuring that by now I would have some "issues" to discuss. I cannot take HRT.

Well, I really have only been having sleep issues. Not sleeping more than two hours without waking up and then being wide awake by like 4 am. Total change from my usual sleep habits. NO hot flashes other than one.

Well, my gyn said that if I haven't started with flashes by now, I probably won't have them.

As far as the sleep...she said it may be related to the transition...I am waiting to see....

I had sleep issues after the surgery, and then other times off and on. There are several different things you can try. I like Valerian root capsules, Sleepy Time tea, hot chocolate, Benadryl, Melatonin to name a few.
