ovary and tube removed

Hi EVeryone,

Wow its been a long time since I have used this site four years as a matter of fact. I had surgery done on thursday of this week. I had a laprascopy done which in turn turned into full blown surgery with an incision with 15 staples across my tummy. I just got home today from the hospital and all things considered I feel not too bad thank god. Definityly sore but I expected that.

I am so swollen and black and red the nurse said that even my labia is swollen. Has anyone else gone through this and if so did it slow your recovery down.

Any suggestions would be great. I am taking anti flamitories, pain medication, gravol, and stool softners of course.

Please help,

THanks,
Haven... (sorry for all the typos)

Hi Haven!

I've moved your thread here to the Ovaries Only message board so that you can get support and input from others who have been through the same surgery. I hope they will be along soon to share!

I'm sending best wishes for your recovery.

ovary and tube removed

Hi Haven,

I am having my BSO on the 18th. I was wondering if you could share what caused your surgery to be done abdominally instead of a lap?

Thanks!

ovary and tube removed

Hi there

They had started it via a lap but once they were in there and looked around I had alot of scar tissue from my hysterectomy which was done Vag. Once they fixed the scar tissue and then removed my ovary and tube I guess that the area was just too big to be done via lap. But all in all it hasn't been too bad. I am sore but had the staples out this morning and the incision looks good.

I feel not too bad all things considering!

I hope this helps.
