Back to work in the Morning-I am ready?

I am so scared to go back to work tomorrow. Well maybe scared is not the right word, but a bit nervous. I am nervous of many things, first, is how tired will I be? Second, am I phyically ready for this? What about my pain? I have been really good, I only take Advil once or twice a day for pain. I think that is a good sign. Third, my work load is going to be huge. Work called twice last week indicating all the projects they have lined up for me. I briefly looked at my emails, not to bad, only about 450. I was happily surprised that the number was so low. Hopefully, the majority of issues would of been resolved by now. I am pleased to say that I will be only working 20 hours this week. Yippee, back to the normal 45-50 next week. Although, I may need to say for the first few weeks that I am going going to work 40 hours. I know that it will be fine, but since I have not been out of the house more than a couple of hours at a time, I have some concerrns. I am venting- I am going in with a positive attitude and we will see how the day goes......Thanks for listening.

Back to work in the Morning-I am ready?

Good luck tomorrow! I had mine on the 5th. I am going back on the 9th. My doctor was great about my return date and left it completely up to me. I think it is a great idea to work the pt status and build your energy back up! Make sure not to push yourself too much!

Back to work in the Morning-I am ready?

I had my LAVH on January 5, I was originally supposed to return to work on the 26th but developed some infections that prolonged my recovery. I see the OB/GYN on Thursday and expect that he will clear me to return to work for the 9th. In one way, I'm looking forward to returning to work because I'm getting bored at home after 5 weeks but I too am scared of being physically ready to go back...will I be too tired? Good luck with your return and let us know how it goes.

Back to work in the Morning-I am ready?

I went back to work last Monday at 2.5 weeks post op. I felt really great too but whoooo did I get tired around 10 am. I take a good multi vitamin for woman and don't forget to continue your healthy diet. My biggest piece of advice...DON'T OVER DO IT. I'm lucky enough to work from home today cuz I just don't have it in me to go. Take care of numero uno. )

I hope your first day back went well.

Please take care not to overdo at work. Delegate as much as you can. I had been reluctant to do as much delegation as I should have done, and I found that others really stepped up and did a good job when I gave them the opportunity by delegating to them.

I would encourage you to work part time for the first two weeks. Also, be prepared to be exhausted when you get home - I would have to take a nap before I could think about dinner. Getting help with dinner and housecleaning for the first few weeks would be a good idea.

Keep in mind the Princess still needs pampering. Best wishes to you.

I hope today goes well for you! Come home and just rest!

I was out for 6 weeks because I had the TAH. I took motrin, tried to sit as much as possible (I'm a nurse), and when I came home, I pretty much did nothing. I was really tired by the third day, but no pain. Thankfully, I only work 3 days/week, so I could rest up after that third day.

Back to work in the Morning-I am ready?

Thanks ladies for your words of encourgement. I make it through the first day! I am super sore today, but that was to be expected. I came home and got into bed, I did not sleep but I was able to rest for an hour and a half. It is amazing how much you use your stomach muscles. Simple things, like pulling myself up to my desk. Getting up and down from my chair is still a painful. I was able to take it easy today, thankfully. I worked from 9-2, which was perfect. Tomorrow will be the same. I love that schedule.

Ranocnurse how did it go for you today?

Purplfreak- I know how tired you must of been. I was super tired by eleven today.

I will look forward to a good night's sleep and another busy day tomorrow. Thank you al' for responding. I so appreciate you.

Have a good night. I will try to post again tomorrow.

If you need to, perhaps ask your boss if you can go to work half days for a few weeks. I applaud you for working all day!! I never could have gone all day the first day back!
Take care of yourself and do rest!!

Didn't I tell ya??? LOL

You might try using your arms to pull yourself up to your desk not your legs and don't "scoot". 9-2 is rockin hours Wish I could work that.

Glad it went well but remember...your still healing, so go easy.

Much Sisterly Love,
