Um, is this normal... 6 weeks post op...

I just went to the bathroom and I'm bleeding. Well, not really 'bleeding' but my pantyliner is brown (old blood I'm guessing). I have been wearing a pad because I have been having white/yellow creamy discharge but I haven't bleed in weeks. Now this? Any ideas why I'm bleeding now? I am 6 weeks post op. I have my appt this Thurs (one day short of 7 weeks post op).

TIA,
Denise

I had a discharge like yours at my 4 week post op exam and some bleeding also. They did a urinalysis and my white blood count was a little high, which they said indicated an infection. My doctor prescribed Flagyl, I finished it yesterday and the discharge is nearly gone. He didn't think it was anything serious, but did a culture and sent it to the lab, I didn't hear back from him so I'm assuming no news is good news. I go back on February18th and hopefully my doctor will discharge me then. Hope everthing goes well for you on Thursday.

Brown discharge can be normal as your stitches dissolve, but since it is creamy, you should probably get it swabbed by your doctor.
