Ovarian cyst vs ovarian cancer

Hello, I am having a BSO on the 18th, I had a TLH a year ago. My doctor suspects cysts as well as re-occuring endometriosis. My question is: have any of you gone into surgery for a cyst only to have the doctor find that it is cancer instead? Can doctors tell if it is cancer just by looking at it? I am worried as it seems like the symptoms for cancer are almost identical to those for cysts. Thank you for any help!

I have had cysts removed numerous times, they have never turned out to be cancer. I think that they are usually sent to pathology to determine if it is cancer.

Hang in there, cysts are very common and alot of the time are benign. Does your doctor suspect cancer? If not, try and not worry too much.
