vaginal odor and discharge

I had a vag hysterectomy on Jan. 5...on Jan. 14, I started having disgusting looking discharge that smelled horrible, but since I had no fever, I thought this was normal. I saw the OB/GYN on Jan. 19, and he did an exam and diagnosed me with a vaginal cuff infection...I'm not saying that this is what's going on with you, but if you're concerned, I would have a doctor check it out.

vaginal odor and discharge

Hi Girls I am 8 weeks out today (had TAH Dec 12th 08) and feel my recovery has been slow. I have also had vaginal discharge with bad odour on and off over the past few weeks and assumed it was to do with the stitches but eventually went to my GP who only today diagnosed 'Bacterial Vaginosis' for which she prescribed antibiotics. So if you are unsure it might be worthwhile to check with your Doc....

vaginal odor and discharge

I had the same thing happen until about 3 weeks postop. All of a sudden, the smell went away. It was bad, too. One day my DH wanted to see how well my scar was healing (at about 2 weeks postop) and I pulled my pants down to show him the scar (had a TAH) and when he squatted on the floor he stood back up really fast, put his hand to his nose, and said, "Looks great!" and walked off. I was so embarassed. Thankfully, however, the smell does go away. Shouldn't be too much longer and you won't have to deal with that. Someone told me when I posted about the smell that their doctor said it has to do with the anesthesia. Weird, but I guess it's true.

vaginal odor and discharge

I had the same thing after the 6th day, I had to go back to the Dr to get my staples removed since they forgot on my release day. SO LAME ! Anyway, I mentioned to my Dr I smelled like a hooker who has not showered for a month. SHE looked at me funny and said I may have 'Bacterial Vaginosis' its can happen after surgery as with a UTI. She gave me meds to take it went a way. DONT wait call your Dr.

vaginal odor and discharge

Hi,
I too had a funky smell the first 3 weeks with a brown discharge. My dr told me it was normal and part of healing...he didnt see me. In the end I had an infection...when in doubt.. always push your DR for answers and insist you be seen.

WHY OH WHY DO Dr do this? If they have half a brain they know this can happen, why not say, this can happen if you dont noticed it going away by next week I MAY have to give you some meds.. why leave us all thinking we are OK or worse yet, Crazy? I am tired of being treated like I dont matter especially since I am paying over 625.00 a month for JUST ME medical insuance prem with a huge co pay due to my pre existing condition that caused surgery. SURE MAKES MY BLOOD BOIL!
