breaking out!!!

What is up with my SKIN??? I am totally breaking out! The whole right side of my face broke out in about 4 hours time (I had no idea until I got home and saw my face full of whiteheads...totally embarassed), I found a giant whitehead had developed on my left breast this morning, AND I found an even bigger whitehead that suddenly appeared this afternoon right under my TAH scar!!! What the heck is going on? Why am I breaking out so bad? I have never in my life had a problem with acne before...not like this, not even when I was a teenager. I've always had one or two around time for my period, but never this many and never appearing so quickly! I still have 1 ovary that seems to be working quite fine, so I don't understand! I will be 6 weeks postop on Tuesday.

Anyone have suggestions? Tips? Anything to help stop the breakouts? Any suggestions as to why this is happening? Any input greatly appreciated!!!

breaking out!!!

I kept both my ovaries, and I experienced facial breakouts like I haven't had in years for the first month after surgery. Your remaining ovary got "rebooted" when it no longer had the uterus to communicate with, and it may just be trying to straighten itself out. You may want to give your doctor a call (maybe the primary care physician would be better than the gynecologist since this is a skin issue). Since this came on so suddenly, it might be good to rule out an annoying virus that hit you when your immune system was busy recovering.

I used really sensitive cleanser on my face, and that did help some. But it's really frustrating. I hope someone chimes in with more helpful solution.

breaking out!!!

I just had my 6 week postop on Friday. You can count me in with the annoying breakouts, and unfortunately, no real solutions yet. I was hormonally wacky (and it affected my skin) before surgery, but this is different. I've been using gentle cleansers and such, too, but so far, only time seems to make the breakouts go away. I will just get to where I think it's all improving, and wham - I'll get a week of crazy skin. I'm hoping it's just that my ovaries are adjusting. (Please?)
Hang in there!

breaking out!!!

HI I had red bumps on my forehead and upper cheeks about 6 months after my surgery. What if any HRT are you taking? I have not had them in a year or so. I did some reading back then and saw taking natural progesterone helps with the skin cell renewal among many many other great things. So I got some emerita PRO-GEST from my health food store, it seemed to help. Maybe it regulated my estrogen? Not sure I was taking or it helped with my fatigue too. I did research on it just last week too, I am still happy I started taking it. I am in the process of making a switch to BIO ID Estrogen too. I sure pray I am one that it helps. I want to move away from the synthetic pills GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR SKIN!

breaking out!!!

Oh thank you so much for the advice about the progesterone! I am not on any HRT because I do still have 1 ovary. I was temporarily on HRT to "jumpstart" my ovary that didn't want to work immediately after surgery, but haven't been on the HRT in about 4 weeks.

I'm going to ask my doctor about the natural progesterone to make sure I'm a good candidate for it.

Thanks again!

breaking out!!!

So glad you asked this question because a few days ago my face started breaking out really bad with little tiny whiteheads. I would get like 4 new ones once or twice a day. Then they would leave tiny red scars til disappearing. My face looks gross and we went out tonight for Valentine's Day and I had to put on a ton of makeup to cover them. I wash my face daily and with a gentle cleanser. The one I've always used. I was at that age where I had stopped getting pimples much. I keep thinking I'm still in high school. Yuck!
