Any Suggestions?

I just had a TVH on January 26th for Adenomyosis. I am now trying to work through the hormone levels and have had a bad headache the past couple of days, so waiting for word from my doctor. I was really hoping to do natural hormone therapy, but my doctor insisted that I wait until I am feeling better to try that. Any suggestions?

What sort of natural hormone therapy were you hoping to try? "Natural" can mean different things--such as non-hormone supplements or bio-identical hormone therapy. You can find a lot of hormone information here: Hormone Jungle Articles.

My personal preference is to use transdermal bio-identical hormone therapy. For me that consists of Vivelle Dot for my systemic estrogen, Vagifem for vaginal dryness and also compounded progesterone and testosterone creams. Not everyone needs to use all of those hormones. What's right for some of us isn't right for others. It's not a one size fits all deal. Bio-identical hormones are made to duplicate the hormones the ovaries make. To me they are more natural than using black cohosh and other phytoestrogens that my ovaries didn't produce.

Headaches can be a symptom of low estrogen--that's been true for me. You might feel better once you start on estrogen if you elect to use hormone therapy. You might want to start a journal of your symptoms to share with your doctor.
