weight gain

interesting to hear you all talking about gaining weight after hysterectomy.
i have always had a weight problem, and 4 years ago lost 25kgs, which was a major achievement - regulated calory intake and regular exercise, nothing strenuous just walking basicaly. and i was really proud of myself and my new figure -now i'm just depressed - i did gain a little just prior to being advised to have the tah, but lost 5 kg immediately prior to surgery, only now, i am 6 months post op and have gained 10! nothing i seem to do will shift it. i have tried the regime i used four years ago, and nothing seems to behappening. it is quite disheartening. i have gone up a size in clothes.
i really lack the motivation i once had. i work 4 days a week and still get so fatigued since the op, that the thought of exercise really turns me off.i keep telling myself that i'll feel better soon, but i thnk i'm just kidding myself.
i really don't have a support group here to work out with, as everyone i know works different hours to me and i feel just all alone in my attempts to shift the weight.
how much can i blame on the tah and how much is just me being lazy? if i do get an hour to myself i just want to rest.

weight gain after hysterectomy

My TVH was August 2008 and I've already gained 24 pounds. I too have tried watching what I eat, limiting calorie intake and exercise but nothing seems to be helping. I am just too tired to muster up the energy for much of anything else.

Justnot me -
i sympathise entirely with your lack of energy. after a full 10 hour day at work, after getting the family organised, and then having to cook a meal for extended family, i can't even begin to contemplate to think about doing exercise. and my weekends are usually spent house working.
i used to be able to handle it all ,but just can't any more.i have asked my gp who just tells me 'you've had surgery, and you are middle aged'.

i reckon that sucks. can anyone tell me how to get my energy back?
