rectocele surgery?

I had the rectocele repair along with other surgeries, the rectocele itself is likened to an episiotomy. My gf had just that one surgery and she said it wasn't that bad. She didn't stay in the hospital, she was outpatient. Are you having other repairs as well?

I am certain your doctor will give you the proper medication to handle any pain you are in. I think you can expect to not be able to sit for a good while on a hard chair, but a nice recliner will do! Make sure you get the post op instructions regarding activity and lifting restrictions, you don't want to undo any of your doctors work.

I know how terrifying it can be to have surgery, but you will be all the better for it. I can now have a bm and have it come straight out, can't remember the last time I had that pleasure, LOL.

Good luck and update us after your surgery!

Re: rectocele surgery?

Hi Lovetherain75,
How was your surgery? Did it all go well? How are you doing now? I just read your post that was dated in Feb 20, 2009 and was wondering how it all turned out for you. I might be facing the same type of procedure so any advice would be great. Hope you are all better.

Hi, not all retocele's are repaired vaginally or like episiotomies. My repair wa done abdominal and I can sit fine. Hope you are doing well!
