hormone levels

hi ladies
it been a while, hope all is good for yous.
could any one tell me what your hormone levels are ment to be after surgical menopause, my doctor is a bit ditzy to say the least, i just think any number that she comes up with sounds right to her.. i had low hormone levels and she did more blood tests, they came back and she said they were fine and that they had DROPPED to 28, how could they drop if they were already low, so if anyone knows what they are ment to be i would really appreciate it. thanks all.

Hi L,

It's not about the numbers, it's about how you feel. The normal range is huge and what makes one of us feel great is to much for someone else. If you aren't doing well, don't take no for an answer.

Good luck.

I agree, those blood tests are really just a marker...It is all about your symptoms. Also what are the units he measured it? That is really important.

Just the number is....just a number. Is that your estrogen....estrodial....
what?

Yes, my DR wouldn't test my levels after a year on HRT like I wanted her to. She says same thing, its how you feel. After reading and research and some TV shows like Christine Northroup I finally felt I had enough info and wanted to switch to BIO ID creams and gels so I can adjust them as needed. I love them so far so good..

I called the BIO ID Pharmacy of my choice I am using Womens International they are very very nice and helpful. I talked to the pharmacist told her what I was taking in my synthetic pill now and she told me the BIO ID equivalent, I wrote it down exactly as she stated dose and strengths and faxed it to my DR after calling her and telling her I was switching to a compounder and if she can call in the type and amounts on my fax. She was very happy to.

After my first month of topical gel/cream I heard of the topiclick applicator I had to have it, one/two turns of the base and its perfectly the right amount. I went from the Estratest synthetic pill to BIO ID estrodial gel, 1-2 clicks of the dial twice daily, progesterone cream 1 click 4-5 times a week, and .05 estrodial olive oil clear caps for vaginal and bladder health inserted vaginally 2-3 times a week. I choose the olive oil clear cap its the most gentle so no burning or itching as I had with vagina creams in the past. I also use a tiny bit of testosterone creamy gel 2-3 times a week. Each click of the dial depends on the strength of the cream/gel that is ordered by the Dr. It needs to be stronger if you are using a topiclick dispenser then if you are using a jar with a spoon. So, with creams and gels I can adjust them when I need to, no more one size fits all pill for me. If I feel like I am having too much I will cut down to 1 click in the evening and 2 clicks at night, its very adjustable so you can use the amount you feel you need to feel good. It all may sound Greek to you now but with the help of any good compounder you will fully understand.. GOOD LUCK...
