Vaginal discharge at 4 months post-TVH

Officially it's been 4 months since my vaginal hysterectomy. I did not keep my cervix. I bleed every day still.

Some days it's yellow, some days it's orange, others it's brown, sometimes it's clear with colors.

Yesterday it had teeny bright red dots in it.

I'm entirely sick of the disgusting discharge. When I called my doc weeks ago they said it was normal.

Anyone else go this long? I saw many of you had stopped after two weeks.

I suffered for YEARS with heavy periods, got a tubal ligation, D&C and endometrial ablation and it made it worse, then get a hyst and still I bleed!

Thanks for letting me vent!

You have all the right to vent. I'm 10 wks + and I still have discharge (no bleeding- pale yellow to white) some days are less than others. I hope this will soon stop too.

I feel for you! Many hugs

I don't think it sounds normal to still be bleeding. I stopped at 6 wks. I think you should maybe get a second oppinion. Does it hurt (cramping?) Did your doctor check for anything? It seems odd to me for them to say that this is normal. My doctor said anything over 6wks. is cause for concern. I still have discharge, but I think most women do.

i cant believe youre still bleeding and having a colored discharge. i assume your dr has done cultures and looked at it under a microscope? i'd definitely go for a second opinion. since your cervix was removed, i dont understand where this can be coming from.

Thanks ladies,

I do feel like I have a right to vent. It gets a little less each week. My doc says it takes a while for some ladies as some don't heal as fast. I've yet to see a stitch!

It doesn't hurt, but she's not done any cultures or anything. I haven't seen her since my 6 week check up.

I am tired of the stale blood smell. Even after I shower I can still smell it.

Thanks again

Bleeding

I must agree with the other ladies...get a 2nd opinion. I am 3 weeks, 4 days post op and haven't seen a stitch of blood (except light discharge the first couple of days). I am feeling blessed for that. I would definately go ask another Dr. what might be causing this.

Hope you find the answers you are looking for!

I'm with Dressedupinblue, I don't understand where all the drainge would be coming from. 2 days post op and I was done. None since. It just doesn't sound right. I only saw 2 stiches come out, but they were all gone at 6 weeks.

I hope you can sort this out soon.

Thanks to all of you. I am afraid to call b/c I have had vulvodynia pains this week and don't want that area touched.

I'm wondering if she was wrong and that I really do have granulation. I always wondered how she could see everything since the speculum covers some of the areas inside.

At this point I'm wondering also, does granulation ever heal on it's own? I simply can't have this much drainage the rest of my life.

I am just so tired of it. I bled non stop for almost two years, had the ablation, that didn't work, and now this. I feel like sewing my vaginal opening shut.

You really do need to call the doctor and have it checked out. Maybe she can give you something for the pain or tell her your in pain this week and maybe she can schedule something for later. I am not really sure if they heal on there own, but if I were you I would really call and the sooner the better, so you can get on with life!! The whole reason we had these surgeries is so we can live better, and I wish that for you!!

Thanks Lilly,
I'm just so scared of calling her and starting the appointments all over again. What could possibly be draining from me this long?

My SIL mentioned it could be urine. Not possible. Doesn't smell like it. I think if I had a fistula I'd know it. I pee regularly ( somewhat LOL )

It must be granulation. I just wish it would stop.

Thanks for your response. I will keep you all posted.

Lisa
