Scared, post Myomectomy, feeling horrible again

Hi all!

I had a myomectomy for a huge fibroid and a tiny one in November of 2008. The first period after that was WONDERFUL. No pain, no excessive bleeding, no back pain, no diahrea (yes, major part of my issues) and I wasn't fatigued and achy and I felt so good! Then every month since then (December, January, February and now two days ago) my periods have gotten 1 to 2 days longer, heavier bleeding, clotting, and the diahrea, frequent urination, night sweats and fatique have returned.

I woke up Sunday morning after an 8 day period with a raging headache, backache and joint pain. I thought, good grief, its all starting over again. And guess what, I wasn't done with the bleeding yet! I finally finished today with a little spotting, so that's day 10. So I made my appointment with my Doctor and now I'm petrified.

Could the fibroids have grown back that fast?
Has anyone else experienced this?

If so, and it is fibroids again, I am already considering a hysterectomy. I am 34, no kids, but I just can't see myself being this miserable 10 - 15 days of each month.

Any advice is appreciated. Thank You!

lilydiva8,

I have had the same experience. Myomectomy 3/07, 3 small fibroids removed, 1 large one that wraps around my uterous could not be removed because of position, it would have lead to hysterectomy. I had several months of pain free cycles. Then it started back. The pain, the bleeding I experience constipation. I have long cycles, usually starting with what my doctor calls "breakthrough bleeding" for about 5-7 days and then the real stuff for another 5-7 days. I am lying in bed now having missed 4 days of work because the pain is excruciating.

I am 36 w/o children and am taking the suggestion/option of a hysterectomy a lot more serious.

I am right there with you. You are not alone.

scared...

Thanks for the replies!

I made an appointment for my doctor in two weeks, and am nervous. I didn't have constipation before surgery, and now this time I do. Along with the dibilitating anemia after my periods...
