Hormone imabalance 2 1/2 years post hysterectomy
How long does it take? I keep going back for bloodwork and my hormone levels are too high, then too low.
Is anyone else having this difficulty? My bloodwork this last time shows that the progesterone is too high and the estrogen is a little low. Back in December it was just the opposite.
My doctor uses natural hormone replacement therapy.
Any encouraging thoughts would be appreciated.

My doctor does not believe in hormone testing. He goes by symptoms, so he gives me the dose that stops my hot flashes. The numbers for testing don't always match with how we are feeling because the range is so big. I had a doctor who tested me, and it said I was in normal range and went by that, well I felt awful with hot flashes, so the testing is not that accurate.
I use bio-identical Vivelle dot patch now for 6 years and feel balanced.
I hope you can find a doctor who can get you balanced.

What type of symptoms are you having? Do you overall feel well? If so, the tests are but a number. Ranges are usually very broad and we all won't feel the same at a given level. If you're still having problems, I would suggest keeping a journal of your symptoms and only tweaking one thing at a time.
You may also want to look at the mehtod of delivery. Hrt is not one size fits all. Some women do better well with oral meds, others do better with creams, or maybe sublinguals. There are many different ways to adjust the hrt so if you're not stable and are having symptoms it may be time to look into something else.
