6 days after TVH very painful wind

Hi there, am new to this malarkey so forgive me if I'm in the wrong place. 6 days ago had TVH in Italy. Post-op info very lacking here. Am having very painful wind and generally feel unwell (not all the time) but no fever etc. just, apart from the wind which is difficult to expel, have a menstrual type pain. I expect this is normal, can somebody please put my mind at rest as have nobody to talk to on this subject. I think I felt better when I first got home. Am I just expecting to feel ok too fast?

Hi stella!
I assume by "wind" you mean gas.
It's plagued all of us it seems about a week or so after the surgery, I know it got me good.
Do you have gas x/simethicone available over there? If so, start taking it twice a day. It doesn't seem to help at first but it will.
I am SO familiary with the lower belly ache/gas pains. ((((hugs))))
You may want to run it by your dr first, though...

Stella, you will be given some great advice and meet a lot of who are going through the same issues, that is what makes this site so special.
If you are experiencing gas that is very normal, really watch what you eat. stick to bland food for a few weeks. Also as said above, try Gax X, it does work.
Also, you are in your very early recovery so take it slow. I don't know how much post -op info your gave you but it will take 3-6 months to get your energy back. The best advice is to rest and drink lots of fluids and use this time to recoup. It sounds to me like you are right on track as to how you are feeling.
I don't know if you have seen them but we also have an area for check points along the way, then you will see what is normal and what you should call the about.
Nice having you as an addition to the site. I look forward to hearing more from you. Let us know how you are healing and of course any questions, someone will probably gone through the same thing.
God Bless you and again, welcome,

6 days after TVH very painful wind

Hi Stella

I found that walking slow laps around the house helped with the gas, it gets it moving and relieves the pain without resorting to medication. Also keep drinking, eat a high fibre diet (tuscan bean soup was my saviour) and eat little and often.

Let us know how it goes!
