Is this a menopause "side effect"?

I had my TAH with both ovaries removed on 11/20. I'm 44 years old. I have a weird taste in my mouth the past three days after I eat anything. It is kind of metallic and not terribly evident unless I have just eaten. I know that when I was pregnant I had gotten an odd taste in my mouth a couple of times and it is a fairly common occurence. My other guesses are too much zinc as I'd had two Airbornes the day before the taste appeared or maybe I ODed on some vitamin or mineral because I eat a lot of veggies and also take a supplement. I have the mildest hint of a cold, but I don't think that is it. Like I said, it has been three days. Is this hormonal or just some other wacky thing?

Change in taste can be a side effect of menopause. You can search for 35 signs of menopause, it even can include ringing in the ears (which I picked up after surgery).

I did a google search for "metallic taste" and found lists of 23 things which can cause it. One of them being post nasal drip, some of them being toxic levels of minerals, or even certain kinds of poisoning. I know I have had it before after certain meds. You might want to do your own search and see if any of it fits for your situation. While I experienced a change of taste in the months following my surgery, it didn't involve a metallic taste, and my normal taste seems to have returned.
