pain after incisional hernia repair

Hi, I'm not sure if this is the place to ask this.
I had an incisional hernia repaired 4 weeks ago. I'm still have major soreness.
Can anyone tell me if they've had this and is this normal.
I'm going to call the doc. this week. I don't go back to see him for 3 more weeks.
Thanks!

For me, I have found that it takes my body longer to recover with each additional surgery I have. I had an incision revision surgery and it was a few months before the soreness went away. It is always best to check with the doc to be sure that your healing is on schedule, glad that you are going to give the doc a call.

I had an incisional hernia on 3/10. It was an open procedure and I was told that the recovery time would be 2-3 weeks. But at 2 1/2 weeks, I'm still tired. This was also the first time that I had general anethesia and was told that it can take a few weeks to get out of your system. I still have occasional nausea and bowel problems. Does this sound familiar to anyone?

I talked with my surgeon about my soreness inside and on the surface. (It's now been 4 1/2 weeks since surgery.)
He said that I'd have the pain and soreness a couple more weeks. But, it would go away.
Fortunately, he didn't use the mesh. He says the mesh can cause more pain and sometimes infections.

I hope everyone, like me, can stay calm and have patience to wait this out.

Hernia Surgery Soreness

Hi Friends,
7 weeks ago I had open incisional hernia repair (without the mesh). I still have terrible soreness and a little swelling.
The surgeon just told me that I had healed up and to give the soreness another month.

Has anyone been through this? What did you do for the soreness. I've started taking Naproxen for it.

I'd appreciate any advice.
