My bedroom was on the second floor of my house and I had no problems navigating the stairs. Doctor said it was okay to do stairs a couple of times a day. You should be able to walk up with no assistance.

I also had a TAH and I had no problem climbing stairs. You won't hurt df or dh unless they try carrying you up. Check with your doctor for instructions about climbing stairs.

I was in the hospital for 4 days w/ my TAH. I did worry about my steps in my house when I came home. I handled them fine. I just did them very slowly and step by step. Take a breat going up the 16 and make sure you are carrying NOTHING. Make sure someone is holding onto you or at least close to you "just in case"!

Good luck!

I had a Tah and my Dr wanted me to only go up and down them once or twice a day I took them slow and had no problems at my 2 week follow up appointment she took the restriction off and said I am free to go and down .
