osteopenia/osteoporis concerns

I had my follow-up with my dr today to discusss all the xrays and blood tests he did for my osteopenia, and 24 hr urine capture (what fun) he did in Dec and Jan. Turns out I have hyperparathyroidism, which is robbing my bones of calcium.

He's putting me on Reclast, which he can't schedule until the results come in from yet another blood test. Hopefully, it will be in another few weeks.

H's going to watch me for awhile, as it is not severe enough yet to refer my to an endocronologist. Worse case scenario is having the parathyroid glad removed. I didn' t know until today of the dangers of having too much calcium in by blood.

Oh well. It's always something!
