Myomectomy with Prolapse issues

I am actually scheduled for a TVH with prolapse repairs on Friday but am starting to chicken out. I have heard so much regarding sexual dysfunction after hysterectomy that I want to now switch to myomectomy, but dont know if they can repair prolapse at the same time. Anybody know about this? Also how long is hospital stay with myomectomy?

I would strongly suggest calling your surgeon and postponing your surgery until you make a decision regarding a myomectomy. If you do not want to consider a myomectomy with your current surgeon, give your general practitioner a call and ask for a referral to a doctor who is knowledgeable regarding myomectomies and prolapse issues.

We do have some information in the Resource Database you might find helpful.

I am sure this is tough, trying to determine what is best for you and feeling pressure about time! My goes out to you! Sending lots of extra gentle s your way!

i agree..if you arent sure, you should postpone and do more research. its normal to be nervous before any surgery but if you arent sure and dont feel informed enough, you might want to get more opinions and ask about more options.

Myomectomy with Prolapse issues

Thanks for the feedback, I had an emergency meeting this morning with him, he's still not convinced the cervix plays any part for a woman, but has said I could leave it in and switch to a lapro super cervical hysterectomy, but this wouldn't address my prolapse issues...so I have until tomorrow to decide...yikes
