New Start Monday - March 30

Morning Everyone

Well the scale was frightening. So it's a new start, new attitude, new plan for me. I've got a long range goal in mind. But I'll take it in 5 lb increments.

Bkft: 1 egg omelt (w/muchroom & onion), 1 slice 12 grain toast (dry), sliced fruits of banana, orange, kiwi. Hot tea.

Lunch: my salad is made - need to hard boil an egg

Dinner: I"ve got boneless chicken breast defrosting, with side of baked acorn squash, and fresh asperagus.

Snacks will be limited to "healthy" options - keeping to recommended serving sizes. Items will be measured, lots of fluids pushed, and the only snacks in the evening will have to be back to a protein smoothie DH and I've gotten lazy about making them the past 6 mos. They were a daily evening snack and very healthful.
I can do this. I CAN!!

Hugs to all who follow - it's a brand new day!

Re: New Start Monday - March 30

Hi Melissa and All!

LOVE the new plan, Melissa. Count me in! Getting some of the "stuff" done around here has made me feel much better. I think I can get back into some healthy exercise steadily again. I especially LOVE your 5 lb increment plan. I need to adopt that. I get overwhelmed by my long term goal...I get impatient or something.

The 1/2 pound loss has remained, so I guess it was the real deal. I'm starting (again) at 190. I hope to report next week that I'm in the 180's. I've got to get going if I'm going to hit goal this year...it's going by quickly!

Food remains the same...exercise will be the Leslie Sansone walking tape and my bike. Eventually I'd like to weight lift. I ordered an oldie but a goodie from Amazon...one of Susan Powter's. I love that crazy woman!

Okay...time for lunch!
Have a TERRIFIC week all!

Re: New Start Monday - March 30

Hi All!
I'm back from Ohio. I got home late on Saturday and just never got in here to post yesterday.
All went well, and I was too busy to over eat, so I actually lost a pound there. I got tons of exercise, and even a daily walk.
Today was Curves and I'll walk with DH tonight. Melissa, I too have a long range goal, and right now it really only needs about 10 pounds before November. This is so do-able, I just need to stay with it.
Have a BEST OP evening everyone.

Re: New Start Monday - March 30

Hi All

Checking back in. I will probably be using your shoulders to be accountable. No change in plans except that I never got my hard boiled eggs done so used chicken and 1 slice deli swiss cheese in my salad. Either way - I've been in a salad kind of mood.

Dinner tonight was a variation on Nancy's dijon/parm chicken. DH actually said it had good flavor. Go figure. LOL.

He tempted me today offering me a piece of a brownie he bought. I was a good girl and said thank you.
Afternoon carb craving got me so I had 8 mini-pretzels. That was it. Tonight will be the protein smoothie and if I need something else I'll share a gala apple w/DH.

I'm waiting for my neighbor to call - we're planning our even with this windy weather.

PJ - the scales were up to 182 so I'm looking to pull ------->>>>>> you down into the 180's with me then we'll both head for the 170's.

Re: New Start Monday - March 30

Hi ladies,
It's early evening, but I'm still coming to post!
Strange day today, but I think it balanced out ok.
Did not do "formal" exercise...will in the morning I think.
Tonight is aerobic house-organizing...and when you're talking boxes and packed suitcases, I think it also counts as weight lifting.
Having a WW lasagna for dinner.
Lots of water.
Catch you all later.

Re: New Start Monday - March 30

Hi all!

Melissa, we have very big shoulders and you are welcome to lean on them. I like your new resolve!

I got a new digital scale yesterday and it shows me slightly up this morning. I don't know how close it will be to the WW scale, but the fat lady hasn't sung just yet. I had trouble getting my points in this weekend because of the icky-sicky stomach and it may be the thorn in my side this week. My leader says it's a major important task to consume ALL of your points each day so your body doesn't start trying to "save" them by slowing your metabolism. I weigh-in tomorrow, so hopefully the needle will be sliding back in the right direction.

Today, I upped my raw veggies - more bulk - to get everything revved up again. I feel really full, so dinner will be light, but I'll need to add a high point snack to get all of my points in.

PJ and Mel, don't wait on me. I'm still a couple of months away from the 180s but I'll get there! I'm hovering around 201 right now. And Nancy, 10 lbs and you are goal! Congratulations! And Ali, not forgetting you - you are remembering to rest some before your knee surgery, aren't you?
