seroma?

I am really starting to regret having tah. Everything has been going wrong and its been a nightmare from the start. I am 3 weeks post op and today my tummy was bulging with this lump, its very painful and I am crying more than anything these days. I went to doc, and he thinks its a sernom. Going for ultra sound to see and then he says he will probably have to drain it with a needle. Anyone else have this? I am so scared.

Re: seroma?

Hi Weezy,

I am sorry that you are having to deal with this. I didn't have a problem with seroma but I am dealing with an incision that is wide open and that has to be scraped down with a scalpel every two days. Its not fun either way. The only good thing about having the hematoma drained is that most women report that its an instant relief of pressure of their tummy. Hopefully you will get some relief from this as well if that's what it is. Did your doc give you an antibiotic in case of infection? I know that any set back really bums you out. I haven't been able to increase any activities and I will be 4 weeks post op on thursday and have had one problem after another since the end of january when I had my first ovary and tube removed. Just remember that it will and does get better, Just be patient and get lots of rest so that you have no further set backs.
Please let us know how your ultrasound goes and what happens. I will be thinking of you. Good luck!!!

Re: seroma?

I had two surgeries within the same month and they went through the same incision. Needless to say the first incision wasn't healed and when they stapled the second incision it just didn't hold together, Now the whole incision is wide open. It's about 6"long and opened up about 1 1/2"-2" wide. Its just a mess. But it will get better It has tooo!!
