rectovaginal fistula repair

on march 26 i had a rectovaginal fistula repaired, i had the fistula for years and finally decided to get it repaired, everything seemed to be doing ok, and today i started passing gas from the vagina and having watery pink drainage from the rectum.I am having normal BMS and no pain. does this mean my fistula repair has failed?

I think it sounds like a phone call to your surgeon, or an office visit is in order. Whenever you have a new symptom, especially after surgery, you would want to have it checked.

How are you doing? I truly hope your repair was successful....I have a vaginal Fistula and have had 2 unsuccessful surgeries and am due to have third in May!! My prayers are with you....Lea

the fistula repair was unsuccessful, i wll be seeing a different doctor on friday, so hopefully she will have good news for me.

Hi ladies I hope you are both doing better now.
I need some support and guidance. I was just diagnosed
last night with a rectovaginal fistula during an exploratory lap.
I've had severe pain since my LAVH 1/09. They believed I had
fallopian tube prolapse but when the surgeon performed a vaginal
exam he discovered fecal material in my vagina. He says the bowel
prep uncovered the fistula. I have an appointment to see a rectocolon surgeon on Monday.
What should I expect?
What should I ask?
Please any imput would be appreciated
