September support

Almost there..............my op is on the 4th. I was able to choose my date back in March and it seemed a very long way off then! Glad I did wait, and fortunate that I have been able to, because it has given me time to come to terms with the whole thing - and really get clued-up about it. Finding Hyster Sisters has been great. I've just received my copy of the book, and t-shirt, which I will wear in hospital (castle) - it will be interesting to see if English doctors and nurses know about Hyster Sisters. It is going to be wonderful to be rid of my fibroids - for the last few weeks I've been holding my tummy as I used to do when I was pregnant and having to go to the loo with monotonous frequency. Best of luck to you all. I'm really looking forward to being able to compare notes when it's all over.
Love and hugs
Elizabeth

Best of luck

I'm sure this must be a tough week for you. I still have a couple to go....just went out to buy more pillows and projects to do when I'm recovering. I bought a cute stuffed butterfly pillow to take to the hospital with me....kind of see it as freedom from all the crud we've had to deal with!

I got the book this week too. I cry reading it because of the sweet husbands who help their princesses during the middle of the night. I don't have one of those. I'll be on my own. I have some very sweet friends who said they'd come by and help...it's hard to ask for help though.

Hope you have some fun things planned for this weekend. Try to relax and we'll be praying for you on the 4th.

September support

Hi Elizabeth G,

September 4 is my date too. I am trying to get as prepared as possible both mentally and physically (trying to get my house in order, have the right supplies, etc.). I know it will be a good thing for all of us--just can't wait to be on the easy side of this "adventure." My DH and DS are going camping this weekend. I was supposed to go too, but am just too preoccupied to go and enjoy myself. If it were just the three of us, I'd probably be fine, but a bunch of other folks are going as well, so I decided to bow out. My DH and DS robably need a boys' weekend before they start attending to me next week! Anyway I'm going to go out to dinner with a very good friend, tying up loose ends, and trying to just have some quiet time. Did you find the HysterSisters book to be a lot more helpful than the web site? I've been debating over ordering it. I probably will though--it won't be here until I get home, but I'll probably still enjoy it and it would be supporting the site. Best of luck to you next week! Stay in touch.

Shirley

TAH/BSO because of terrible menstrual pain (already had endometrial ablation that solved my excessive and sporadic bleeding, also D&C that did nothing)

September support

Hi Sisters.

My surgery is also scheduled for the 4th and I am ready! I found the HysterSisters sight three months ago and have been absorbing every bit of information that I could since then.

I went to my pre-op appointment this morning and I didn't even have any questions for them. After reading this sight for three months it told me everything I ever wanted to know about hysterectomies.

Please keep in touch so we can compare notes about our crownings and our new lives as princesses. It's gonna be good-- I just know it!

I am another

September Sister! I go in on the 12th. Tonight I dragged everyone out to the Super Target and went shopping for some larger shorts, shirts, pj's with buttons in the front and baggy shorts. I got some new underwear and bras and then some stuff for the bathroom.

I also shopped for the house, I plan on cleaning a room from head to toe each day (since I have 12 more, I have plenty of time).

As it is getting closer I will think about food and what to freeze. Have any of you done this yet?

BIG HUGS TO ALL
