LAVH: Pre-op ultrasound – what is a TA?

Had an ultrasound today, external and internal. Left ovary that should have been removed nearly three years ago is still there apparently. Surgeon can't have got all of it (did warn me at the time that was possible). They initially weren't sure whether right ovary was an ovary or a fibroid: it was sited attached up the top of my uterus.

They kept talking about a "TA". Anyone know what they mean?

Its ok. I've found it "transabdominal scan" (external scan), as opposed to "transvaginal scan" (internal).
